SAIT의 수퍼컴을 활용한 Hyperscale AI와 Machine Learning Force Fields 연구 현황

[Abstract]
 
 
현재 삼성전자는 세계 28위 규모의 수퍼컴을 보유하고 있다. 기술원 내 Extremely Scalable Computing SW 과제는 수퍼컴 활용 역량을 극대화 하는 것을 미션으로 부여 받아, 대규모 AI 분산 학습과 양자화학에 기반한 분자 동역학 시뮬레이션을 효율화 하는 것을 주요 목표로 하고 있다. 대규모 AI 분산 학습의 경우 삼성이 독자적으로 Large Language Model을 개발할 수 있을 정도로 안정화가 되었다. 한편, 제일계산원리에 기반한 분자 동역학 시뮬레이션 경우 Machine Learning Potential을 활용하여 가속하는 것이 주요 골자이다. MLIP가 갖춰야 할 물리적 특성을 설명하고, 주요 방법론에 대한 간략한 소개와 평가 결과를 공유한다. 마지막으로 반도체 공정 시뮬레이션에 적용된 사례를 소개하고, 향후 필요한 연구들을 제안한다.

-      Researching on machine learning inter-atomic potential for accelerating quantum-mechanical atomistic simulations. (2021~present)

Completed Projects:

-      Building Hyper-scale AI R&D infra in Samsung Super Computer. Reported outstanding BERT training performance using 1024 A100 GPUs to MLPerf Training benchmark v1.1, v2.0 and v2.1. (2020~2022)

- (2015~2018) Mobile GPU-based deep learning inference framework development and commercialization

- (2017~2018) Deep learning based automatic SEM images classification methodology development and application to Through-Silicon Via (TSV) process
